FESCO CEO stresses consumer satisfaction at engineers’ course
Chief Executive Officer of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Engineer Muhammad Aamir, on Friday emphasised that consumer satisfaction should be the top priority of power distribution companies, saying that a satisfied consumer is the true indicator of the power sector’s performance and credibility.
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of the 57th Pre-Promotion Technical Refresher Course for senior engineers at the WAPDA Engineering Academy, Faisalabad. The six-week training programme was held from November 24, 2025, to January 2, 2026, and was attended by senior engineers from distribution, transmission and generation wings of power utilities across the country.
Highlighting the importance of continuous professional development, the FESCO chief appreciated the role of the WAPDA Engineering Academy in enhancing technical expertise, managerial capacity and institutional strength within the power sector. He urged engineers to perform their duties with honesty, discipline and professional integrity, noting that public trust and improved service delivery largely depend on the conduct and efficiency of field engineers.
Engineer Aamir congratulated the successful participants and expressed confidence that they would utilise their newly acquired skills to improve operational efficiency in their respective organisations.
Earlier, Chief Engineer and Principal of the WAPDA Engineering Academy, Engineer Murtaza Bhura, briefed the audience on the academy’s training initiatives, stating that the institution continues to equip engineers with modern knowledge and practical skills to address emerging challenges in the electricity sector.
Course Director Mehboob Fareed presented the course report and said the programme covered a wide range of technical, administrative and professional subjects through lectures, practical exercises and case studies. Deputy Course Director Rashid Mahmood praised the participants for their discipline, commitment and learning spirit throughout the training.
The academy announced that Abdul Sattar Channa of Sukkur Electric Power Company secured first position, followed by Muhammad Saleem, Additional Director of Islamabad Electric Supply Company, in second place, while Muhammad Asghar, Additional Project Director of the same utility, stood third.
Director General MIRAD FESCO Abid Rasheed also attended the ceremony and congratulated the academy management and participants on the successful completion of the course.
Later, certificates were distributed among the participants by FESCO CEO Engineer Muhammad Aamir and Principal Engineer Murtaza Bhura. Engineers from various power distribution companies, including FESCO, GEPCO, IESCO, LESCO, MEPCO, PESCO, SEPCO and HESCO, took part in the training programme.
